During this four-day workshop, you will learn how functional MRI data are acquired and analyzed using the software package SPM12.

The workshop will focus mainly on hands-on work (with laptops in class). It is therefore expected that you have prior background knowledge on the principles of functional MRI, or spend additional time on the basics before taking part in the workshop. For starters, a list of recommended video lectures and books is provided in the files section!

After completion of the workshop, you will have knowledge on:
- MRI safety
- MRI data acquisition
- “Triggering” MRI experiments with Presentation
- Controlling the quality of MR data
- Data preprocessing and statistical models (1st/2nd level) in SPM12
- Batch scripting in SPM12
- Extraction/plotting of contrast estimates
- SPM toolboxes: Anatomical localization, region-of-interest (ROI) analysis
- Data visualization tools

The course will take place “in presence” at buildings A7 and NeSSy (W30). In line with the university’s COVID-19 regulations on room usage, the number of participants is currently limited to 19.

Enrolment to the course is preliminary for now; you will be notified upon final acceptance.
