Comment/Description

Minimally invasive surgery demands specific endoscopic motor skills that are usually acquired outside the operating theatre. Prospective studies have shown that structured curricula including theory, simulation, and live-surgery seem to be the best option for trainees to improve their skills and proficiency in endoscopic surgery.

This workshop highlights the importance of the assistant in gynecology as well outlines important points regarding basic surgical rules in minimally invasive gynecological surgery. It represents a valuable opportunity for students to systematically learn basic skills and judgment necessary to perform safe and effective surgery assistance, according to the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery.
