Teilnehmende All students interested in a first introduction to the field of renewable energy and its physical basis and societal context.
Voraussetzungen keine
Lernorganisation As actual foreseeable due to Corona precautions:
Online seminar, flipped-class-room-concept. Students study content on the base of beforehand distributed study materials. The online meeting sessions are used to clarify and deepen students' concepts.
Leistungsnachweis Exercises conducted in homework prepare students for a written report. If changes in the planning on the examination format will occure beforehand to the semester start, students get informed about the examination format latestly during the first (online) lecture day.
Lehrsprache englisch
Sonstiges During the lecture an online Seminar Blog will be introduced (Worpress). The protected online environment serves to create a format of a teaching/learning platform allowing to read results from colleagues, exchange and comment on ideas. It allows to administer media.

Kommentar/Beschreibung

Introduction into the areas of renewable energies, with special emphasis on the physics of energy conversion and utilization, based on complex physical models. The student will be able to understand the fundamental principles of the field renewable energies.

Contents:
Energy supply and demand; energy use & climate change, energy resources; renewable energy sources (resources, technology & application): photovoltaics, solar thermal systems and power plants, wind power, hydropower, geothermal energy, biomass; hydrogen technology and fuel cells; energy storage; sustainable energy supply.
