Since the ancient times, the city of Palmyra has always been known for its openness to the coexistence of different populations and ethnic groups. This balanced coexistence worked not only on a cultural level, but also on a religious one. The inclusion of other cultures brought together traits of foreign cults, which gradually became part of the main city religion. Therefore, this seminar aims to recognize and to analyze the different religious souls of the city and the kind of cults which characterized the everyday life of the Palmyrenians. The final intent kis to explain how Palmyra has become an everlasting example of tolerance and integration.
