A smart assistant system adapts its behaviour to certain conditions of the environement and the user, in order to provide optimal assistance. In this seminar we focus on smart assistant systems that adapt their behaviour to the gaze activity of a user. An example is Continental‘s „Driver Focus Technology“ (look it up at Google). We will review these systems, get hands-on eye tracking technology in a one-day workshop, and write a survey paper on the state of the art and future directions of these systems.
