The course provides a broad introduction to IT security, covering the following topics: basic terms, concepts, and principles in IT security, key cryptographic building blocks (encryption, signatures, ...), system security, access control, authentication, key exchange protocols, network security, anonymous communication (mixnets, TOR, ...), and basics of privacy protection.
