Comment/Description

Experimental morphology and phonology

In this course you’ll learn to formulate a research question and hypothesis in the domains of morphology, phonology or morphophonology and to design an experiment to address that question. To do so, you’ll learn from the best examples in the field. We will read articles and discuss the questions, theoretical background, experimental designs and linguistic resources they describe. You will learn how to use that information for your own work.

This course is ideally suited for students who would like to pursue a career in linguistics, but the scientific thinking, creative problem-solving skills and project-oriented approach acquired in the course are beneficial to anyone.

The course is taught in English and we will work with English texts. Yet, in the assignments students can work on the language(s) of their choice.
