INTRODUCTORY MEETING on January 29th 2024 Preliminary enrolment is possible until Friday, Jan 26th 2024. Note that the course is limited to 18 participants. Final participants will be decided at the introductory meeting on Monday, Jan 29th, from 16:00 sharp, in this BBB room:https://elearning.uni-oldenburg.de/plugins.php/meetingplugin/room/index/076543deae8223d0dfbed2ee153887cb/0f288fbcc30715c02020b3626287910f?cancel_login=1 Until then, all enrolments are still preliminary. It is therefore MANDATORY that you attend the introductory meeting. If the course is overbooked, we will PRIORITISE ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA, in the following order: - study programme Master Neuroscience or Biology - present at the introductory meeting - study progress (current semester) - sequence of enrolment - study programme Biomolecular Medicine - present at the introductory meeting - study progress (current semester) - sequence of enrolment PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW ON THE COURSE STRUCTURE AND TIME COMMITMENT. The final time slot for the block course is February 19th to March 8th. The course will be held in presence. IMPORTANT: Course structure and time commitment This is a 6 credit-point course, equivalent to 180 workload hours; of these only ~70 are contact hours. The other 110 hours will involve work in your own time, both before, during, and after the course. A large part of that work contributes to the portfolio that your grade is based on. The extent of work required BEFORE the course may be unusual, but is for your own benefit: the course depends on active participation on your part and the block structure does not leave you enough time to adequately prepare during the course, particularly during the first week. To help you structure your time, and also give us enough time to provide feedback, we require: Each participant to give one 30-minute oral presentation during the course. This will be followed by a detailed discussion of the language, structure, and the presentation. The talk must be based on your own work, preferably current, or from your Bachelor’s degree. The presentation file (either MS Powerpoint or, better, a PDF) must be uploaded to the folder “Oral presentation files” in StudIP by Friday, February 16th, midnight. Other files, involving work in your own time on various tasks (to be specified in an email subsequent to the introductory meeting) must also be uploaded before or, in some cases, during the block course. After the block course, you will write an essay; the submission deadline for which will be agreed on during the course. TAKE-HOME MESSAGE: If you cannot find the required time before, during, and after the course, or have conflicts with the scheduled contact hours, please de-register from the course now and give those who can a fair chance. |
