Comment/Description

“Career paths in Science, Medicine and Technology” offers you the chance to meet OLTECH alumni and other role models, to hear from their experiences, and to interact with them. You will learn about a variety of career paths and get insights into different areas of work, in particular jobs outside of academia. Our guest speakers will talk about their current position, the moves that got them there, the relevance of skills acquired during their doctoral studies and will be ready for your questions.

R&D Vibrosonic GmbH, R&D Clinical Affairs
Helen works in the innovative hearing industry (developing a hearing contact lens) and talks excitingly about her career start after completing her master's degree in neuroscience and the challenges of everyday work in a medical technology company.
At Vibrosonic GmbH, she works in the field of clinical research.

Dr. Wiebke Schubotz
Wiebke Schubotz studied Physics at the University of Hamburg (diploma in astroparticle physics, 2011) and received her PhD degree in Medical Physics (“Performance of current models of speech recognition and resulting challenges”) from the University of Oldenburg in 2015.

Afterwards she worked as a scientific coordinator at Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (2016-2019) and at the coordination office for regional activities of the World Climate Research Programme at Climate Service Centre Germany (2019-2020). Since 2020, she has been working as a science manager at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Zeuthen

The event series is a joined initiative of all the doctoral study programmes of OLTECH and all doctoral students are welcome!
