Comment/Description

This course is designed to support your research and writing process when you are about to begin writing – or are in the midst of writing – your BA, MA or doctoral thesis; it will help you develop your ideas into a systematic research project as well as gain a more profound knowledge of postcolonial theories and concepts in general. In order to facilitate a writing process in which you do not only acquire expertise in the topic of your thesis, but in which you also enhance your writing skills as well as your knowledge in postcolonial studies more generally, we will focus on practical matters first (such as how to prepare a research proposal and how to structure your writing process). Then, we will read up on and discuss those postcolonial theories, concepts and approaches which are the most useful for the research projects in our group. After this, each of you will have an entire session to present and discuss your research project and/or a draft chapter in order to further refine your research design.
