The goal of this course is to develop students’ academic English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking and to review key aspects of grammar and vocabulary so that they are well-prepared for their courses in Oldenburg. Students will be expected to participate actively and will be required to (i) successfully complete regular grammar assignments or pass a grammar test at the end of the semester (ii) write a 1000 word take-home essay.

Assessment in this course is “pass/fail” based on the successful completion of the take-home essay and grammar assignments/test and active participation (writing a summary and taking part in an essay feedback interview).
