Orientation and goals

Economics and Business Administration deals with the analysis of all kinds of economic relationships between businesses, consumers and state institutions. Economics skills are indispensable in most areas of today's working world, and can be applied in many ways. Studying Economics and Business Administration will help you attain these skills. These are acquired in this study programme in Economics and Business Administration.

At the University of Oldenburg, a great deal of emphasis is placed on combining a number of elements to create a good general knowledge of the subject. These parts include business administration, which examines organisation and function of businesses; national economics (VWL), which analyses connections on the broader economic level; as well as jurisprudence, which seeks to contribute to the overall understanding of the subject by exploring its legal aspects and relationships. In the bachelor's programme in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Oldenburg, you will learn to analyse economic issues, and to interpret and to take different viewpoints into account concerning differing opinions and recommended courses of action for businesses, policy, and organisations. Thus, students learn the basic terms, methods and concepts of the subject and acquire the competence to analyze economic facts.
