Orientation and goals

German society is currently in a state of flux, which will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the healthcare system. Debates on inclusion (participation and ownership) in society and socio-educational-political processes highlight the fact that modern societies are increasingly characterised by processes of inclusion and exclusion. In order to be able to provide modern, interdisciplinary healthcare services, numerous debates are taking place at an international level regarding the structures that are required for care, education, rehabilitation and social justice. Germany is also faced with the task of bringing together physicians, healthcare professionals, educational scientists and rehabilitation and social scientists to establish interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research into healthcare services. It is essential that theory and practice are at the heart of this research.
