Skills to be acquired in this module | The aim of the ‘Sustainable Venturing’ module is to develop entrepreneurial skills for the development and implementation of sustainable innovations and sustainable business ideas. This includes - the ability to identify new solution requirements in the context of sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, - knowledge and skills for the entrepreneurial development and implementation of innovative solution approaches, - knowledge and skills for the systematic combination of economic, ecological and social objectives and - the ability to strategically develop sustainable business areas and markets. The entrepreneurial development and implementation of sustainability innovations can relate both to the founding of new companies and organisations and to the development of new solutions and business ideas within the framework of established companies and organisations (corporate venturing). |
Module contents | Exciting, practical and at eye level with practice partners! In the module, we take on the sustainability-oriented innovation and business ideas of our practice partners (start-ups, companies, etc.) and work with them to develop innovative solutions that are intended to generate a positive ecological or social impact for major global challenges (e.g. climate change, transformation of energy systems, scarcity of resources, etc.). Tools and methods of sustainable innovation and business model development are learnt and applied in the module; the co-innovation with the practice partners is accompanied by intensive coaching from the teaching team. Learning from real practical cases (challenge-based learning) takes centre stage. Interesting insights into practice and good contacts with innovative and sustainability-orientated companies are created. Many of the ideas developed are actually implemented and generate a real positive impact. In this way, we accelerate the transformation to a sustainable and climate-neutral economy with an unusual teaching/learning format which we call challenge-based learning. |
