Students
• are familiar with reasons, objectives, actors, domains and problems of state economic policy
• recognise and reflect on international economic dimensions of state economic policy
• know and assess explanatory approaches to international economic relations reflect on globalisation processes in the emergence of worldwide markets for goods, capital, services and labour, as well as the environment
• know about international financial markets as markets for monetary or capital transactions
• consider the substantial growth in the volume of international financial transactions
• analyse the ability of the nation states to implement autonomous monetary and financial policy
• reflect on international financial relations as the result of a global process

1.) International economic relations:
• Significance of international economic relations for the Federal Republic of Germany
• Structure and scope of international economic relations
• Reasons for and explanatory approaches to international economic relations
• A regulatory framework for a globalised worldwide economy

2.) International financial relations:
• Understanding the concept of international financial relations
• The development process of international financial relations
• International financial markets and the economic significance of nation states
• The current functioning of international financial markets.
