Modules totalling at least 60 credit points have to be acquired or equivalent achievements have to be demonstrated. Conditional admission is possible if the module examinations have already been completed but not yet assessed.

 

In the final module, the skills learned and practised in the degree programme are combined into an independent final thesis.

Students choose a topic in consultation with their lecturers and work on it independently. The Master's thesis is an independent piece of work in which students demonstrate their ability to work independently and scientifically on a topic by developing a theoretically sound research question, translating this into an empirical research design and conducting a methodologically sophisticated investigation from which conclusions can be drawn about the theoretical research question. Alternatively, a systematically relevant theoretical research question can also be addressed. 

Supervision takes place as part of the colloquia organised by the lecturers.

The search for appropriate literature is part of the work on the Master’s Thesis.
