Skills to be acquired in this module

Students will study the sense of hearing by conducting psychoacoustical experiments with their own ears. They will acquire fundamental theoretical background knowledge about (psycho-)acoustics as well as learn how to prepare and conduct psychoacoustical experiments and how to analyse and interpret the results.

The modul comprises (i) a seminar “Hearing” [2 SWS] (ii) an exercise "Fundamentals in psychoacoustic data analysis" [1 SWS], and a (iii) practical course [7 SWS] including aspects of planning and conducting psychoacoustic experiments.
