Students
• can identify a scholarly topic from the field of economics and focus it for the purpose of writing a Master's thesis
• can with a large degree of independence develop a keen knowledge of the selected subject area, reflecting the current state of research
• use appropriate scholarly methods and research techniques in order to independently produce a scholarly paper
• are able to reflect on scholarly opinions regarding the subject matter in a broad context and discuss and critically analyse solutions to problems with teaching staff and fellow students
• produce a written proposal for a Master's thesis.

  • Basics of epistemology and scholarly work
  • Basics of research methodology
  • Development of main proposition and research design or work plan
  • Organisation and delineation of the subject matter; development of a detailed outline
  • Presentation of the format and structure of the Master's thesis
  • Critical discussion of the format and structure of the Master's thesis at a scholarly level
