The students are to learn:
to use the Matlab programming environment
to understand biological data processing, modelling and simulation
to plan simple software for data analysis and simulation independently and to develop it
in Matlab
Module contents
In this course, students are introduced to the use of the programming tools of Matlab in
biosciences. At first, basic concepts of programming are presented and the
general use of Matlab is practised. Later, the focus is on biological applications of
Matlab. Exercises can be done within three weeks in individual speed.
Topics:
Scripts, vectors and matrics, graphics, data types, saving and loading data, functions, if-statements, loops, searching and sorting, statistics, complex data types, modelling, handles, software design
