Kompetenzziele | Goals of module: Students will learn to understand changes in thinking and behaviour that may arise from brain dysfunctions (part 1, 3), acquire specific knowledge on cognitive rehabilitation (part 2), and learn to understand, communicate and evaluate progress in clinical practice and experimental research in neuropsychology (part 3). Competencies: ++ neuropsychological / neurophysiological knowledge + interdisciplinary kowledge & thinking ++ experimental methods + data presentation & discussion ++ scientific literature + critical & analytical thinking + scientific communication skills |
Modulinhalte | Part 1: Introduction to Clinical Neuropsychology (lecture): winter Cortical lobes (anatomy, functions, lesion symptoms, neuropsychological tests) Higher functions (learning & memory, language, emotion, spatial behavior attention) Plasticity and disorders (development, learning and reading disabilities, recovery) Part 2: Cognitive Neurorehabilitation (seminar): summer Behavioural and neuropsychological approaches neurofeedback in neurorehabilitation and ADHD memory rehabilitation effects of physical activity on cognition motor recovery Part 3: Topics in Clinical Neuropsychology (seminar; taught partly in German): winter Clinical neuroanatomy Neurodegenerative diseases Dementia Choose either part 2 or part 3! |

The module will be tested with a written exam of 2 h duration. Required active participation for gaining credits: presentation participation in discussions on other presentations attendance of at least 70% in the seminars (will be checked in StudIP). |
