• plan their own empirical study in the field of vocational education and training
• develop and justify a survey and pretest the survey instrument
• present, discuss and reflect the results of the pre-test
• choose an analysis procedure and give reasons for their choice

This module concentrates on the development of an empirical survey in the field of vocational education and training. The work within the module can be connected to survey drafts which have been developed in the module pb026 “Research in vocational education and training”. The seminar and the tutorial support especially the following research tasks: planning methods (setting up an research plan), conception of a research design including the development of survey instruments, planning and conducting pre-tests, data analysis, presenting and reflecting research results.
