Two introduction to a specific field of specialization must be chosen in the winter semester (instead of the Introduction to EP plus ONE introduction to a specialization): Laser and Optics: Introduction to relevant research fields in Laser and Optics. Knowledge of the characteristics of waves, optical radiation, design and function of optical elements and instruments, basic design of photonic systems and optical metrology. Biomedical Physics: Overview of the research fields in Oldenburg related to biomedical physics and acoustics (biomedical signal processing, neuro-sensory science and systems, medical radiation physics, medical imaging). Acoustics: Overview of the research fields in Oldenburg related to acoustics (acoustical signal processing, audiology, noise control and vibration). Renewable Energies: Introduction into the areas of renewable energies, with special emphasis on energy conversion and utilization, based on complex physical models. The student will be able to understand the fundamental principles of the field renewable energies.

Dear Students, We, the work group Wind Energy Systems, have organized an excursion to the wind turbine manufacturer ENERCON. It will take place on Friday, June 28th from 7:20 A.M. to ca. 6:00 P.M. All students are invited, but please understand, that students, who attended the courses Wind Energy Utilisation and Design of Wind Energy Systems and ca. 3 PhD students are preferred, if the number of persons exceeds 24. In addition to this, the order of enrollment decides. If less than 9 Persons enroll, the excursion could be cancelled. The participation comes along with 10,00€ for the bus, which each participant has to pay.
