Skills to be acquired in this module

This module consists out of two sequential seminar parts. The first part is defined as a literature seminar in which the classics of experimental psychological research are discussed. The first part of this module is the basis for the second part. The second part will deal with cognitive processes and cognitive engineering.

Professional competence

The students:

Part 1:

  • will develop the skill to understand and critically discuss journal articles in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience

Part 2:

  • will develop skill to understand and summarize research that applies basic concepts and ideas from cognitive psychology to engineering

Methodological competence

The students:

Part 1:

  • will be taught about research methods and concepts of (Neuro) Cognitive Psychology with potential for application


Part 2:

  • ability to structure a talk that summarizes research results

The students:

Part 1:

  • will acquire skills in scientific communication by presenting journal articles
  • critical and analytical thinking of actual research approaches between students facilitating knowledge transfer
