The lecture will be held in English. Guest students (and LÖK students) are not required to attend the seminar. Birds play an important role in basic research and nature conservation. The lecture series provides a general background and highlights individual case studies to teach the diverse physiological adaptations of birds to their environment, their diet, their habitat selection, aspects of communication, bird migration, their reproductive ecology, life history, population biology as well as various areas of their behavioural ecology, from sexual selection to mating and helper systems. Module bio655: ONE of the courses 5.02.658 and 5.02.659 must be chosen. Note: Students who would like to study bio655 from another subject area (outside BIO and LÖK) are requested to get in touch with the relevant contact person at the examination office as soon as possible.
