Learning outcomes: Students will learn the basics of physical experimentation, the use of modern instrumentation, data collection, and analysis using appropriate hardware and software. They deepen lecture material through their own experiments. They acquire the skills for planning, implementation, evaluation, analysis, and reporting of physical experiments and presenting of results using multimedia tools. By working in groups, they gain competencies in the areas of teamwork and communication. Content: Introduction to software for scientific data analysis, analysis and assessment of measurement uncertainties, analysis and verification of measured data, fitting of functions to measured data, dealing with modern measurement techniques, carrying out experiments in the fields of mechanics, electricity, optics, nuclear radiation, electronics, signal acquisition, signal processing.

Hinweise zum Modul
Teilnahmevoraussetzungen
Course I is a prerequisite for course II
Hinweise
Modul constists of 'Basic Laboratory Course I' (winter term in Oldenburg) & 'Course II' (summer term in Emden) as well as the seminar 'Communication & Presentation'
Prüfungsleistung Modul
Successful execution and record keeping of the experiments, presentation of the results in lectures.
Kompetenzziele
The students learn the fundamentals of carrying out experiments in physics, how to handle modern measurement techniques as well as data acquisition and analysis with the help of suitable hardware and software. They extend the subjects of lectures by own experiments and acquire skills in planning, carrying out, assessing, analysing experiments and writing reports as well as in presenting their results using multimedial tools independently. Working in groups they acquire competences in the fields of teamwork and communication. In the accompanying seminar, students acquire competences in the fields of responsible scientific practice and commitment by assessing the social consequences of research results and additionally extend their experimental skills.
