Sie erwerben Fähigkeiten der Bewertung von zivilisatorischen und natürlichen Strahlenexpositionen und deren Vergleich mit Anwendungen in der Medizin. Sie erweitern ihre Kompetenzen im Bereich der Präsentationstechnik durch die Betreuung von kleinen Praktikumsversuchen zum Strahlenschutz. Inhalt: Strahlenphysik, Grundlagen der Dosimetrie, Strahlenschutzgrundsätze, Strahlenschutzverordnung, Natürliche und zivilisatorische Strahlenbelastung, Praktikum im Bereich der Strahlenschutzmesstechnik

Die Verteilung der Plätze findet am 1. Termin des Seminars zum FPR-M statt. Die erfolgreiche Teilnahme entspricht einem Versuch im Fortgeschrittenenpraktikum des Master-Studiengangs (drei Versuchstage). Der zusätzliche Aufwand in Höhe von 3 KP wird im Vertiefungsmodul I/II angerechnet. The seminar "Modern Methods in Optical Microscopy" is part of "Advanced Metrology" and might be offered parallel with the seminar of "Applied Photonics I / Spectrophysics" (depending on the amount of participants). Examination: presentation in each part. - Demonstrate knowledge, fundamental understanding and critical awareness of current research fields in state-of-the-art optical microscopy. - Personal development through practice of communication, presentation, time management, teamwork, problem solving, project management, critical evaluation, numeracy, and IT skills. - Students are able to prepare a written scientific report on their own and present their results in an appropriate way to the group; in particular to understand, analyze, classify and work on an advanced microscopy topic, thoroughly study the recommended (and further) literature; find and critically check relevant literature make and incorporate their own thoughts, write down and present their results in a mathematically correct and comprehensible way, finish in time. The course in Advanced Metrology sets up a high level route enabling the students to acquire skills to allow them to operate effectively in the majors of Engineering Physics. This is achieved by provision of state-of-the-art technical and physical approaches covering broad aspects of advanced metrology within the context of Laser&optics, Biomedical physics & acoustics, and renewable energies.
Demonstrate systematic knowledge across appropriate advanced metrology technologies, management and environmental issues to provide solutions for international industries and/or research organisations
