Titel | Energy poverty and renewable energy promotion policies |
Beschreibung |
Across the globe, energy and environmental policy-driven regulations such as eco-taxes, subsidies, support schemes for renewable energies and emissions trading systems are at the core of the policy discussion on how to transition to sustainable energy systems. These regulations, however, create cost and rents which translate into the incidence for households. The EEG surcharge, for example, accounts for roughly 20% of the average retail electricity price for consumers. This cost may implications for poor households in terms of their ability to meet their energy requirement. Here, students may conduct an in-depth review of the literature or conduct an empirical analysis on this subject. |
