Electro-mobility is high on the agenda of many countries in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector. The thesis should discuss PROs and CONs of support policies for electro-mobility thereby taking into account potential overlapping regulation with other pre-existing policy instruments (e.g. emissions taxes).

The thesis should first identify potential reasons for public support schemes of electro-mobility. Different instruments -- such as buyer's premium or state-funded infracstructure (charging stations) - should be discussed in terms of their overall economic efficiency properties. Last but not least, the interaction of such policies with other greenhouse gas reduction strategies such as fuel standards, fuel/emission taxes, etc. must be critically assessed.
