Description:
This course is a short one-week practical review of productive academic skills, in English. With a focus mainly on practicing writing and speaking, we’ll review what ‘academic’ really means, covering appropriate vocabulary and formality. We will also review the basic process and structure of writing (from paragraphs to papers) and presentations, plus practicing these. We’ll also review related skills including, for example, paraphrasing, when to use citations, how to approach AI tools, and what to know when presenting your findings in front of a group. Instructor feedback and language advice are of course integral. This course is a short one-week practical review of productive academic skills, in English.
