Students have to understand the theoretical orientation and the institutional structure of financial accounting and standard setting. Many important standards, such as fair value accounting, financial instruments, reserve recognition accounting, management discussion and analysis, employee stock options, impairment tests, hedge accounting, derecognition, consolidation, and comprehensive income, will be analyzed and critically evaluated from students. This course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the underlying accounting concepts and accounting standards governing the preparation of financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for external users. Furthermore it develop students' conceptual skills and professional competence in financial accounting in compliance with the regulatory and financial framework under IFRS.

This course provides an introduction to the increasingly complex and interesting field of sustainability reporting. Students have the opportunity to conduct their own empirical research. Deep statistical knowledge is not required.

Die Studierenden bearbeiten in ihrer Masterarbeit innerhalb einer vorgegebenen Frist ein Problem aus dem Bereich der Wirtschaftswissenschaften selbstständig unter Anwendung wissenschaftlicher Methoden theoretisch und ggf. empirisch. Im (individuellen) Forschungskolloquium zur Masterarbeit stellen die Studierenden ihre Zwischenergebnisse zur Diskussion und erhalten Rückmeldung bezogen auf Gliederung, Methodik, Problemstellung, Theorie, ggf. Empirie und Inhalt.

This module is based on accounting and annual financial statement, while focusing exclusively on the international financial reporting standards (IFRS). In terms of content, the course covers subjects such as the most important concepts, tangible and intangible assets as well as liability items on the basis of the fundamental standards and case studies.

Ersetzt die VA zu "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)"

as Modul deckt sowohl theoretische als auch praktische Aspekte der Buchführung ab. Zur Vertiefung der theoretischen Module Rechnungswesen I+II steht der Praxisbezug dabei deutlich im Vordergrund. Den Studierenden wird die Bedienung der in der Praxis weit verbreiteten DATEV-Software vermittelt und auf diese Weise der Berufseinstieg in die Steuerberatung und Wirtschaftsprüfung erleichtert. Konkrete Inhalte sind z.B. die Erfassung von laufenden Buchungen in der DATEV-Buchungsmaske, die Durchführung von Jahresabschlussbuchungen, die Erstellung von Umsatzsteuervoranmeldungen oder Einkommensteuererklärungen des Unternehmers und die Erstellung einer Körperschaftssteuererklärung für eine GmbH.
