Mandatory course for all students in the 1st semester (Bachelor and Master).

The course aims to introduce students to research topics in the field of clinical auditory neuroscience. Students will gain knowledge on different types and causes of hearing impairment, methods for subjective and objective assessment of hearing function, and neurocognitive consequences of hearing loss.
The course is set up as "extended" journal club. Based on a research article, we will discuss current research questions and methods in the field of clinical auditory neuroscience. To provide additional context on different study populations affected by hearing disorders, the paper discussion will be accompanied by an introductory presentation by students (~20 minutes).

To earn course credits, students have to give an introductory presentation.

In addition to this seminar, students have to either attend seminar 6.02.270_a or 6.02.270_b 'Hands-on functional MRI data analysis'.

Wir bieten eine kurze Einführung in das Wisskomm-Format "Science Slam" für interessierte Teilnehmer*innen an dem Slam-Wettbewerb am 29.05.2024 an. Im Anschluss wird ein Brainstorming in Gruppen durchgeführt, um die eigene Slam-Idee vorzustellen. Am Ende des Workshops werden die weiterentwickelten Slam-Ideen präsentiert und an der möglichen Umsetzung "gefeilt". Das Ziel des Workshops besteht darin, die Teilnehmenden zu befähigen und zu motivieren, innerhalb der nächsten 6 Wochen an der eigenen Slam-Präsentation weiter zu arbeiten, um als Slammys auf der Bühne stehen zu können.
