Module contents
With a special focus on intellectual property, this module comprising two separate courses covers the international economic institutions (including the respective treaties). The first course deals with the institutions of international economic law (WTO, the UN financial institutions – World Bank, International Monetary Fund, including the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency). Particular emphasis is put on those international institutions that are relevant for intellectual property (WIPO, TRIPS). The second course offers an in-depth analysis of the individual intellectual property rights (in particular copy rights, patents and trademarks), the respective institutions and treaties, as well as the underlying principles. The second course is open to students of the module RdW 1.
