Students
• obtain the knowledge they need to assess models for lesson planning and proposals for the implementation of economics lessons in terms of teaching methodology and teaching practice
• reflect on teaching material and develop teaching aids for economics
• acquire a grasp of theory that will enable them to determine the role of practice and performance assessment in the teaching of economics
• develop proposals for the design of practice and performance assessment in the teaching of economics
• gain an understanding of theory that will enable them to recognise opportunities for acquiring methodological expertise, sound judgment and practical techniques in the teaching of economics
• reflect on opportunities at school for diagnosing and evaluating teaching programmes and for didactic experiments in the teaching of economics.
Module contents
Basics of lesson planning in the teaching of economics (3 ECTS):
• Didactic models and basics of learning theory for lesson planning
• Levels of lesson planning in teaching economics
• Focussing the teaching of economics on the development of skills
• Development of media and materials for the teaching of economics

Practice and performance assessments in the teaching of economics (3 ECTS):
• Fundamental understanding of practice, taken from anthropology and the psychology of learning and memory
• Fundamental understanding of practice, taken from the didactics of teaching economics
• Evaluation of performance level and learning outcomes in the teaching of economics
• Opportunities for designing time-based or period-based performance assessment in the teaching of economics

Theory and practice of teaching politics and economics (3 ECTS)
• Teaching politics and economics in secondary (Gymnasium) schools
• Methodological expertise, sound judgment and practical techniques in the teaching of economics
• Opportunities for acquiring methodological expertise, sound judgment and working techniques in the teaching of economics
• Evaluation of teaching programmes in economics
