Seminar	1.07.056Z - Zusatzangebot: "Code-Lab für Sowis: studentisch organisierte Methodenwerkstatt" Josep Gabriel Nikolas Sottile Perez, B.A. Matheus Silveira Mendes Wednesday: 12:00 - 14:00, weekly (from 16/10/24) Die nächste Haus-, Projekt- oder Qualifikationsarbeit steht an und ihr sollt eine quantitative Datenanalyse durchführen, wisst aber noch nicht richtig wie und das Statistikprogramm spuckt ständig Fehlermeldungen aus? Die Dozierenden sind schlecht erreichbar oder eigentlich ist das Nachfragen schon peinlich? Dann seid ihr bei uns genau richtig: Wir, Josep und Tim, sind selbst noch Studenten und kennen all diese Sorgen und Probleme aus unserer eigenen Anfangszeit. Gerne möchten wir euch anhand dieses Formates unterstützen und ein Umfeld bieten, in dem die Herausforderungen im Umgang mit Statistiksoftware (R, Stata, SPSS) bewältigt werden können. Die Methodenwerkstatt ist kein klassisches Seminar oder Tutorium, sondern bietet einen Rahmen, in dem wir euch persönlich unterstützen. Kommt einfach vorbei, wenn ihr Hilfe in der Statistik oder mit euren wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten braucht. Die Methodenwerkstatt findet in diesem Semester wieder in Präsenz statt, wir sind aber auch bereit individuell Onlinetermine an euch zu vergeben. Notes on the module
Module examination Portfolio consisting of 2 partial performances 2 short tests Skills to be acquired in this module After completing this module, students will have an overview of common qualitative and mixed mehods data collection and analysis methods. This overview allows them to understand qualitative empirical research in social science publications, to correctly understand what conclusions can be drawn from these studies, and to understand their limitations. Students will also learn and practice the tools to conduct and analyse their own qualitative or mixed methods research projects. This inolves knowledge about the comparative advantages and disadvantage of different methods and the ability to choose the appropriate method for a research project. Upon successful completion of this module, students will also have the computer skills necessary to assist qualitative research projects.
