    **Bitte beachten Sie: ** Teilnahme an der Vorbesprechung ist Voraussetzung für die Kursteilnahme. Die Veranstaltung läuft größtenteils via Stud.IP und in Gruppenarbeit ab. Es gibt 2 Präsenztermine: 1) 2h Vorlesung im Mai 2) ganztaegige Abschlussveranstaltung voraussichtlich im Juni Die genauen Termine sind im Bereich "Ankündigungen" zu finden. In diesem Modul gewinnen die TeilnehmerInnen einen Überblick über argumentative und experimentelle Strategien in der Alternsforschung. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Feldern Medizin/ Epidemiologie, Biochemie/ Zellbiologie, Stoffwechselphysiologie und Genetik. Weiterhin werden die wichtigsten Alternstheorien vorgestellt. Die Teilnehmer arbeiten über das Semester hinweg in Projektgruppen und präsentieren ihre Ergebnisse am Kursende auf einer Konferenz. Ethiker und Philosophen begleiten den Kurs und leiten bei der Konferenz eine Session zu ethischen Aspekten der Alternsforschung. Hier erarbeiten die Teilnehmer gemeinsame Standpunkte und Handlungsempfehlungen. Nach diesem Kurs können die TeilnehmerInnen - wissenschaftliche Artikel aus der Alternsforschung verstehen, analysieren und präsentieren. - die Ergebnisse ihrer eigenen Untersuchungen mit verschiedenen Präsentationstechniken vorstellen. - die erlernten Inhalte in neuen Kontexten anwenden (ethische Aspekte der Alternsforschung) Dieser Kurs steht auch TeilnehmerInnen des **Studium generale** offen. Die Teilnahme ist möglich 1) am gesamten Kurs: 4 Plätze verfügbar Anmeldung bei der Eingangsveranstaltung Bitte beachten Sie: regelmäßige Teilnahem während des gesamten Semesters verpflichtend. 2) für die Abschlußkonferenz: Anmeldung erbeten bis zum 15. The course mainly runs via Stud.IP and in student groups. There are two on-site meetings: 1) 2h lecture expected in May 2) A whole day final course event expected in June The exact dates can be found in the section "announcements" In this module the participants gain an overview of arguments and experimental strategies in ageing research. Ethicists and philosphers from Germany and The Netherlands accompany the course, and chair at the conference a session on ethical aspects of ageing research. Under their moderation, the participants derive joint standpoints and policy recommendations.
