| Beschreibung: | This seminar gives and introduction into a novel concept of international environmental policy. It starts out from the dramatic changes on the global level that affect the entire earth system in its biophysical conditions. Climate change is the most obvious example. The concepts analyses actors and processes that influence these global processes and have the potential of mitigating or at least adapting to them. The seminar will be co-taught by Professor Biermann from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam who is the chair of a global research programme on earth system governance and and eminent scholar in the field of international enviornmental governance. The seminar is part of a module on international environmental policy that comprises the seminar on Earth System Governance and a seminar on European Sustainable Development Policies taught by Heinrich Tschochohei. It is eligible for students in the Master's Programme Sustainability Economics and Management as well as others from the enviornmental Master's Cluster. |
