Objective of module/competences:
The module will introduce to using non-parametric statistics
Participants will learn (1) describing data sets, (2) formulating statistical hypotheses (3) selecting appropriate statistical tests. The course does not provide coverage of complex experimental designs and associated analyses, but rather provides you with the basic tools to properly assess data sets.
Introductory lectures will present the underlying theory and exercises with SPSS help you to apply this knowledge.
Content of module:

• Basic measures for describing data sets (e.g., normal distribution, scales of measurement, the variance of a data set, correlations, number of samples, dependent and independent data)
• Advice on useful graphical representation
• Basic rules for statistical testing (e.g., hypotheses, alpha level, test statistics, type 1 and type 2 error)
• The last day will be dedicated to the introduction of ANOVA, together with the requirements for applying ANOVA
