IMPORTANT: this will be the first time this course runs and we are still working on details of the schedule. Background theoretical content will be studied in your own time during January (approx. 40 h required). You NEED TO PASS an EXAM on this content BEFORE the practical week in February. The training course includes theoretical, practical and skills modules. The course follows the FELASA 2015 recommendations (but has no FELASA accreditation yet). It provides training and education on national legislation, ethics, animal welfare and the three Rs, basic and appropriate biology, animal care, health and management, recognition of pain, suffering and distress, humane methods of killing, minimally invasive procedures without anaesthesia.
You will be required to choose one model species group: rodents OR birds OR fish.
