Beschreibung: | Optical imaging plays a very important role nearly everywhere in natural sciences and technology. Within this course the physical aspects and basic relations are discussed on an advanced level. Although photography is used as an exemple for his topic, the lecture goes well beyond. Contents (excerpt): Cameras, objective lenses, lens design, imaging (ray and wave optics), resolution, space-band-product, sensors (such as CCD, but also advanced scientific imaging systems), noise, dynamic range, basics of image processing, Fourier optics, modulation transfer function and many more. The lecture is not related to manipulation of images as done by well known software. |
