    Students obtain basic knowledge in application of mathematical methods to solve problems in physics and engineering - Vector algebra (vectors in 2- and 3-space, vector products, planes, lines, cylindrical and spherical coordinates) - Preliminary calculus (elementary functions, limits, series, differentiation, integration) - Preliminary complex analysis - Introduction to ordinary differential equations - Partial differentiation - Vector calculus (scalar and vector fields, vector operators, line, surface and volume integrals, divergence and Stokes’ theorem)

Module examination

Max. 180 min written exam or 30 min oral exam.
