Kommentar/Beschreibung

“Career paths in Science, Medicine and Technology” offers you the chance to meet OLTECH alumni and other role models, to hear from their experiences, and to interact with them. You will learn about a variety of career paths and get insights into different areas of work, in particular jobs outside of academia. Our guest speakers will talk about their current position, the moves that got them there, the relevance of skills acquired during their doctoral studies and will be ready for your questions.

Guest
Dr. René Neuholz
Project Manager Quality Assurance and Cyber-Physical Systems
Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM, Bremen
René Neuholz is a researcher at Fraunhofer-Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials (IFAM) in the department of quality assurance and cyber-physical systems. Major tasks deal with industry-related production processes and the digitalized inline quality control methods (e.g. painting processes in aerospace or automotive industry) either as direct industry R&D contract or as public funded research projects.
Furthermore René is co-responsible for setting up the new Offshore Drone Campus Cuxhaven ODCC for the development and testing of various offshore-drone systems, which can be used for offshore services such as inspection of wind turbines, search and rescue missions or transport of material.
Fraunhofer IFAM is one of Europe's most important independent research institutes in the fields of adhesive bonding technology, surfaces, shaping and functional materials. Products and technologies primarily address industries of particular importance for future viability: mobility, aviation, energy, maritime technologies as well as medical technology and life sciences. However, processes developed at the institute are also used in other sectors of industry, such as mechanical and plant engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, shipbuilding and rail vehicle construction, or the packaging and construction industries.

The event series is a joined initiative of all the doctoral study programmes of OLTECH and all doctoral students are welcome!
