Module assignments

Comment/Description

The course provides a broad introduction to IT security, covering the following topics:
* basic terms, concepts, and principles in IT security,
* major cryptographic building blocks (encryption, signatures, ...),
* access control models and mechanisms,
* authentication and key exchange protocols,
* network security basics,
* anonymous communication (including TOR), and
* basics of privacy protection.

The 6 EC course offers weekly lectures that are accompanied with dedicated exercises on the covered topics so that students can prepare for the exam at the end of the course.

Assessment/examination:
Assessment is based on a final written exam

The course is offered to both bachelor and master students; please note the participation criteria.
