Skills to be acquired in this module | + Neurosci. knowlg. ++ Expt. Methods + Social skills ++ Maths/Stats/Progr. + Data present./disc. + Scientific English Students will learn the basics about performing a psychoacoustic experiment. Based on an experiment in which they study their own hearing, they will learn how to conduct a behavioural study in hearing and analyze the data. In addition, they will be be provided with an overview of the mechanisms of auditory perception. |
Module contents | The modul comprises (i) a seminar “Hearing” [2 SWS] (ii) an exercise "Fundamentals in psychoacoustic data analysis" [1 SWS], and a (iii) practical course [7 SWS] including aspects of planning and conducting psychoacoustic experiments. |
