After completing the module, students will be able to:             

  • recognize and name central challenges of the special field in the context of selected sociological theories in the area of tension between inclusion and exclusion.
  • Explain and illustrate different positions of the special field as well as the change in meaning
  • make technically and empirically founded judgments on central issues of the special field (e.g. identity, interculturality, migration, bilingualism, etc.).
  • isolate and analyze central issues of the subject area in the form of a theory-based person-environment analysis.

Module contents
  • A lecture (1st semester) Introduction to selected socialization theories
  • Overview of selected socialization theories and their significance for special and rehabilitation education
  • Presentation of the interrelationships of social, familial, economic, cultural and ecological structures and their significance for educational, upbringing and rehabilitative processes
  • The significance of socialization theories for educational action in preventive, interventive or rehabilitative work 1st seminar (1st semester): Topic area: lifeworlds and impact spaces (module examination possible)
  • introduction to selected lifeworld theories - introduction to identity development
  • presentation and discussion of the interrelationships of the impact spaces: family, school, peer group and alternative impact space as well as their possible effects on development within the framework of a theory-based person-environment analysis or topic area: selected international and/ or intercultural aspects of special and rehabilitation education taking into account different impairments.
  • Introduction to the conceptual network of interculturality, migration, bilingualism and effects on identity/development
  • Differentiated examination of aspects of international special education/ as well as comparative special education 2. Seminar (1st semester) Special and rehabilitation education of life phases (module examination possible) Subject area: In-depth examination of selected life phases with reference to different life worlds/social situations as well as differentiated according to impairments.
  • Analysis and in-depth scientific examination of individual life phases - special and rehabilitation pedagogical aspects of inclusion/participation and participation in school and extracurricular fields .
  • In the seminar courses of the module sop022 it is possible that excursions are carried out with the students for reasons of subject content.
