Skills to be acquired in this module
Introduction to both microevolution (speciation and species concepts, adaptation and selection, behavioural ecology, reproduction systems) and macroevolution.
Introduction to phylogenetics (phyloinformatics, molecular systematics, phylogeography).
Module contents
The lecture imparts basic knowledge in areas including population biology, phylogenetic systematics, phyloinformatics, behavioural and reproduction ecology.
These fundamentals are extended in the seminar and exercises.
