Title | Turbulence and CO2 fluxes |
Description |
The ICBM working group ‘‘Processes and sensing of marine interfaces’ offers the possibility to do a bachelor or master thesis in a coastal oceanography project, together with Leonie Esters, a guest scientist from Uppsala University. There is an opportunity to complete a contact internship beforehand. A better understanding of the turbulence effect in air-sea CO2 exchange is needed to improve global carbon budgeting. We propose to measure air-sea CO2 fluxes together with oceanic turbulence. In order to do so, we will use our autonomous drifting buoy to measure air-sea CO2 fluxes and ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) and ADV (Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter) attached to the buoy. You will be able to sample in the field (Jade Bay) and win hands-on experience in preparing and maintenance ocean technology. We expect this work to be in paper-worth quality (especially for master thesis). |
