| Title | Simulation of capacity markets for the integration of renewable generation |
| Description |
Capacity markets in electricity systems are designed to ensure that sufficient generation capacity is available at all times. Auctions are held at regular intervals to determine payments to providers of this capacity. However, this generally excludes renewable generation that is combined with some form of flexibility, as this capacity is not considered firm. While this may be true in general, renewable generators are able to firm their capacity with respect to certain constraints. Therefore, the capacity market can be expanded to include this type of renewable generation. The goal of this paper is to show the impact of such market mechanisms on the expansion of renewable generation. |

| Problem statement |
You will get a description of a market design and the structure of a system. In addition, you will be provided and explained a basic code base on which you can build. You will have the task of implementing a simulation that runs the described market mechanism and quantitatively evaluating the results.
