After completing the module, students will be able to:       

  • evaluate basic theory and empirical knowledge about the specific needs for support in the field of physical and motoric development based on criteria
  • select and apply methods of special educational diagnostics in the field of physical and motoric development
  • deduce consequences based on diagnostic findings for education and support in the field of physical and motoric development
  • examine the effects for social participation based on theory, empirical knowledge and diagnostic findings.
Module contents

Contents of the lecture "Pedagogy for individuals with physical or motor skill impairments" (winter semester; 1 SWS): consolidation of knowledge in the field of physical and motoric development, clarification of conceptual, theoretical and empirical basics, determination of the group of people and discussion of the following field-specific aspects:

  • examination of the manifestations of physical impairments as well as chronic and progressive diseases.
  • effects of motoric impairments on life and learning from a medical and educational point of view.
  • specific methods and concepts of support and advice in the support in the field of physical and motoric development

Contents of the lecture "Diagnostics for impairments of physical and motor development" (winter semester; 1 SWS): basics of planning, implementing and evaluating diagnostic processes in the field of physical and motoric development with special consideration of the following field -specific aspects:

  • consolidation of the development areas of motoric skills and perception with regard to the design of diagnostic processes in the field of physical and motoric development.
  • support diagnostics and support planning as part of a holistic support process in the field of physical and motoric development.
  • framework conditions for the preparation of expert opinions in the field of physical and motor development.
  • presentation of theoretical basics of selected procedures in motoric diagnostics.

Contents of the seminar "Deepening diagnostics in the field of physical and motor development" (winter semester; 2 SWS): In-depth examination of procedures and forms of action in diagnostics in the field of physical and motoric development with particular consideration of the following field-specific aspects:

  • movement models as a starting point for diagnostic activities in the field of physical and motoric development.
  • in-depth examination of specific methods for observing and describing motor skills, perception and general development in regard to physical-motoric as well as severe and multiple impairments.
  • determination of a need for special educational support in the field of physical and motoric development.

The application-related consolidation takes place in the module prx540.
