Learning organisation | The participants learn a systematic approach to literature study for strategic generalization of their current status in science and research. In this context of widening the own perspective, students acquire the ability to identify and judge the potential contradictions and overlap of existing scientific publications with confidence. This will help to structure the state-of-the-art in a given topic. The analysis further uses bibliographic criteria such as the citation index, the peer review category, the date of publication, the format (e.g., conference, journal, or book) and EDICS. Special attention is devoted to respect and simultaneous criticism on publications in related fields. Technically, the forward and backward-citation search mechanisms will b.e practiced to identify further related work. The general goal of the seminar is the broadening of the own perspective beyond the own field in science and research. For graduate participants, this creates the necessary background for scientific proposal writing. The undergraduate participants specifically educate themselves to judge the perspectives and requirements of a potential further qualification phase in a particular direction of science and research. |
