Comment/Description

Die Veranstaltung findet in Kooperation mit dem Institut für Religionbswissenschaft und Religionspädagogik der Universität Bremen statt.

Aufklärung und Kritik sind zutiefst miteinander verwoben. So hat der Philosoph Immanuel Kant, der die drei großen Kritiken schrieb, auch die Religion für die Kritik freigegeben: ,,Unser Zeitalter ist das eigentliche Zeitalter der Kritik, der sich alles unterwerfen muss. Religion durch ihre Heiligkeit, und Gesetzgebung durch ihre Majestät, wollen sich gemeiniglich derselben entziehen. Aber alsdann erregen sie gerechten Verdacht wider sich und können auf unverstellte Achtung nicht Anspruch machen, die die Vernunft nur demjenigen bewilligt, was ihre freie und öffentliche Prüfung hat aushalten können.“ Diesem Geist der Kritik, der sich gegen Religion überhaupt, aber auch gegen verschiedene religiöse Praxen richtet, wollen wir im Seminar nachgehen. In zwei Schwerpunkten wollen wir einerseits zentrale Argumente der klassischen Religionskritik von Feuerbach, Marx und Freud herausarbeiten; andererseits untersuchen wir anhand von Beispielen ausgewählte Argumentationsmuster antireligiöser Kritik.
